Christmas presents.?

Malia asked:

WOW, I asked this in Toddler/Preschool section. No answers thus far.So I will ask here:

My daughter is 18 1/2 mo old now. She will obviously be 21 months at Christmas.
What are some good ideas for Christmas presents? Educational toys, fun toys, not toys, etc. Names of items and/or links would be great.

Oh-I am trying to find this being sold somewhere in the states but so far to no avail. This toy is at a local moms get together group place but nobody knows where it came from. So, if you know anywhere that sells this, PLEASE PLEASE let me know.

In your opinion, do you think it is wrong for children to hit milestones early?

The Christian Mother asked:

It Works On Babies As Young As 3 Months Old, says this website.

There are many toys that have been geared to teach children to crawl and they are recommended for children 3 months and up. Why is that, I wonder.

So my question is:

Do you think it is better to stunt your children's accomplishments or let them do things on their own time?

Here is my little on at almost 3 months (3 days before his 3rd month).

My son crawled 3 weeks after this photo was taken. It was very wobbly and funny looking, but he did it. Was it wrong for me to let him crawl "too early" (as some would say on here)???

I just looked up on Google and it is actually pretty common for kids this age to be crawling now, if the parent works with the child to do so.

Yay! My baby boy was NORMAL at that age! lol

Seriously; look it up and check out photos of 3 month old kids. You can even see some of them in crawl position! lol
And I asked this question to get the opinion of some parents on here; as I was accused of lying that my son crawled at 3 1/2 months. Just wondered if anyone thought I was harming him in some way. *shrugs* Thanks guys!! :)
DMG: Because it is frustrating when others think they "KNOW EVERYTHING". This all started by me answering a question, then me asking one.

It is just frustrating when kids get on here and act foolish.

I am just a strong advocate on praising our children and boasting with other mommies!

Too bad all parents are not thins way; explains why the world is the way it is today.

Tisk, tisk.

squuishee asked:

i have a five month old and she gets bored about every ten fifteen minutes and wants to do somthing else. We have bought her light up toys educational toys noisy toys homemade toys anything and everything. We have been trying to get her to sit proped up and play with her favorite toys but she get bored so i lay her on her tummy and she screams so i stand her up and thats okay but fifteen minutes later she screams again. I try letting her sit and play in the highchair but that lasts just a little bit and the same with the bouncer and door bouncer, so i put her in the swing which she loves but she won't learn to roll over or sit on her own if sheis in that all day the only other time she is content is when i hold her or feed her any suggestions?

Best toy for 9-12mo baby?

Jennield asked:

What toy does/has your baby enjoyed most in this age range?

My son is 9.5mo & is really starting to get interested in more complex toys. The cardboard boxes and plain old balls still do it for him, but I'm looking for suggestions on more educational type toys.

what are good ideas to help my baby learn and play?

domsmom asked:

my son is 6 months old. what are some good ways and ideas to help stimulate him and help him learn the things for his age group. i buy him as many educational toys as i can keep up with, we go for walks, tummy time, rainforest jumper, bouncer, crib toys, rattles, a few CDs....i read simple books to him, does anyone know of any good baby book authors? i feel sometimes since he can only keep attention to things for a short time that i am not playing enough with him, or when he is sitting in his bouncer while i have to clean up dishes, or i have to 'get ready' for work..that i am not giving him enough attention, i am not doing a good job. so what can i do?
