Magic Apocalypse

What would be creepy in a non-human race to you?
I'm writing in a non-human race in my fantasy story, and to the remaining humans alive on the earth find them to look very creepy. A long time ago, they were humans, but in a sort of magic apocalypse, they mutated, and gradually grew apart from being all human-like and stuff.
So, what would creep you out?
I already have some ideas about what they look like, but I want to know what creeps other people out, or what would make you very uneasy and fearful when you saw it?
Feeding on humans (blood, life force, memories, feelings, etc.) is always creepy, though maybe too much so. Odd movement and slightly changed features (a small change that looks human, but wrong, longer fingers, pale skin, ears an inch lower, etc.). Anything that isn't normal (okay that doesn't help a lot). If this was a magic change, things such as flickering to another human figure, no shadows, walking through a shadow and disappearing, etc. They also should have their own language, food, music (?), clothing, and other common aspects of a different culture.
