Essential Considerations When An After Dinner Speaker Has Been Booked
There are so many worries you will have once you have booked an after dinner speaker; all you want is your event to go off without a hitch and to be the talk of the town.
Here are two considerations you really cannot afford to overlook when you book an after dinner speaker. If you do heed this advice then you can be sure your event will be a success and live long in the memories of your guests.
Venue
Only by getting the venue right can you ensure your night goes off without a hitch. Really, you want the venue to have a podium from where the speech can be delivered. Nobody wants to have to crane their neck to get a view of the after dinner speaker.
Think long and hard about the acoustics of the venue you select. You don’t want your after dinner speaker to have to shout to make themselves heard. Not being able to hear the after dinner speaker will leave many of your guests feeling a vague sense of disillusionment. Selecting a venue with a PA system and sound engineer is a wise idea here. You can then leave them to worry about the sound, while you focus your attention on more pressing matters.

Some may dismiss the need to keep your after dinner speaker hydrated as somewhat trivial. Even seasoned public speakers are prone to getting dry throats.
Water helps the after dinner speaker to relax, as well as keeping their throat moist. Even those who have been doing public speaking for years can suffer from bouts of nerves.
Follow these two steps and all you will have to do is let your after dinner speaker work their magic on your guests.
